Ooooooooo!!

Thats good news, do we have any more details?
Is it a DJ mix? I presume so if its 6 mix.
Will they Chime it up? (re: Ali pally)
Any new material promised? Surely so!

Great stuff!
Shame I have to go to a party where Black eyed peas and Pink will be flava of the night (I'll make a dirty protest if they play any N-dubz).

From bbc website:-

BBC 6 Music says goodbye to 2010 and welcomes in 2011 with a selection of six DJs manning the decks. Programme regulars including Andrew Weatherall, Ali B and Orbital go head to head with some of the 6 Mix's favourite artists of 2010, including Caribou and Herve, for a superstar soundtrack to the last night of the year and alternative club classics to see in 2011.

Just got in from work (in Sydney it's 12.30 New Years afternoon) and have missed this and cannot see any info on the show or see it in the iplayer.

Did this happen and did anyone get it/record it/have links for it fromm BBC6???

You can listen to it on the above link (well, at least in the UK). Orbital are hosting it, and DJing for the second half of the show. At about 1hr41, there's a new Paul Hartnoll track with Adam Freeland. Haven't got much further than that yet...

Haven't listened to the mix yet, but found this on the web:

From a Clash Music interview with Adam Freeland:

"AF: Collaborating. I just really want to work with other peers and artists at the moment. I’m working on lots of different projects, from stoner shoegaze drone-rock stuff to some more dancefloor analogue-drenched stuff. I’ll be producing an album for one of my all-time favorite artists. This year I’ve started a new project with Paul Hartnoll of Orbital, we haven’t got round to deciding on a name yet..."

Well I'm absolutely loving the Paul/Freeland track. Nice and chunky. Although after the mental acid breakdown around the 4 min mark I think the track doesn't come back in strong enough after all that brilliant build up. But a lovely piece of music. If they do more of this together it'll be great.

Loved Phil's New Year Mix, enjoyed the midnight Chime with new elements to it and Halcyon Live from Summer Sonic 2010 was a lovely treat that had me dancing round my balcony with my champange on new years day.

I reckon there was one other new Orbital track in the mix (no tracklisting up as yet so have no real idea) but around the 47min mark...sounds like it could be new Orbital possibly...maybe...unles anyone can actually identify the track?

Think the end with Smells Like Teen Spirit remix was a bit cheesy though.

Yeah I'm liking the Paul Freeland tune too (or is it Adam Hartnoll?)

Cant quite figure out what other tune your on about Badger?? The ones around the 47min mark didnt sound much like Orbital to me... it sounded like a kind of swishy electronica with someone speaking over it?
I must admit I havent heard it all, but I liked the tune straight after the Freenoll one... dirty grimy badass breaky tune, that got me going definately!!

Still no tracklisting on the 6 Mix page which is a bit rubbish.

Can anyone identify the tracks from the hour long mix?

Memly, the Orbital track (which I'm almost 100% sure it is Orbital now) starts at 46mins 45secs if you start with Big Ben at the beginning at 0:00.

Have a listen and let me know if you agree.

Any chance of help with the tracklisting anyone?

Oh right ok... I stupidly thought you meant 46 mins from the beginning of the stream... I will have a listen tonight.

Hope the weather is not too dreary for you out there... I was over in the Sydney area through October and we had to buy umbrellas and jumpers!
