Oooh - what's this???!!!

Back when we interviewed Orbital’s Phil Hartnoll in March, he mentioned that the legendary UK electro duo has begun crafting some new material. Turns out he wasn’t kidding.

On June 20th, Orbital will unveil its first new material since 2004 with the release of a brand new double single. Consisting of tracks titled “Don’t Stop Me” and “The Gun is Good”, the effort is said to “represent the signature Orbital sound, with hints of new elements, and definitely a few surprises, signifying a band still at [its] creative peak.”

The record will be available through iTunes starting June 20th. It will then be made available to all other digital retailers, as well as released as a limited edition 12″ on June 27th.

AWESOME! June is gonna be a big month. We have new singles from Orbital, Chemical Brothers and Underworld. All you need is Leftfield to say they have a new single too and it's like all the original electronic masters are back on the map!

Afraid not - the only way to buy CD singles is promos (if they get released) - it's a dying market...

Good news on the single front - I shall, of course, be buying the 12"

nice nice! shame its not on cd, but will definitely try to buy 12" and maybe buy mp3s!
and also shame its only two track release, i think more new material is NEEDED!!!!

So has anyone go their hands on it yet? What does it sound like? Is it back to the oldschool or something more new sounding?
