Re: save radio 6
I've already filled in the consultancy pages and joined the group.
For anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of listening to radio 6 music I can honestly say it's the best British radio station by far.
It's basically radio 2 for people who used to listen to John Peel.
Plays a mix of good old stuff and less high-profile new stuff. I've heard Orbital tracks played many times along with leftfield, Underworld and many other dance acts.
Playing a track from screamadelica as I type....

Re: save radio 6
...and another thing!
The decison by Mark Thompson, Director General of the BBC, to make cuts in BBC service is basically a pre-emptive strike of cuts in the hope that the Tories won't demand further cuts.
As we know, the Tories are now in the pocket of the Murdoch clan who, for obvious reasons, want the BBC to be neutered and for News International, particularly Sky, to reap the benefits.
Tory party policy on broadcasting is being written by News International - if you can be arsed to investigate you'll see that current Tory policy mirrors more or less exactly what News International have been asking to happen for years.
In summary, radio 6 music is just the thin end of the wedge.
Hendrix playing now, by the way.
