Techno legends Orbital will play their first indoor Irish show since playing the Point on New Years Eve 2001 at Dublin’s Tripod on Friday 13th November 09.

Following their incredible headline performance at Electric Picnic last month, the pioneering dance duo announce a return to Ireland for one of their fabled live shows, to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut single “Chime”.

The 2 hour show will feature all the ground-breaking electronica and roof-raising techno anthems of the last two decades from one of the most influential dance acts of a generation.

Excellent choice. Tri-pod is a cracking little venue and there are some really good pubs in the locale. I would recommend the Bleeding Horse as the meet up spot beforehand, mainly 'coz 'tis easy to find, no further from Tri-pod than the one in Manchester was from the venue and actually ain't that bad as a pub. However, there are plenty of other really decent hostelries within the area so if someone wants somewhere different speak up.

Also, for those requiring accomodation there are a few reasonably cheap hotels quite close by. Well, cheap by Dublin standards anyway.

The venue was where I was supposed to have seen 808 State last November, but they changed it to "The Pod" (a smaller venue next door, if memory serves me correctly?) - something Orbital won't be worrying about...

If memory also serves me correctly, there's a decent courtyard outside the venue where you can smoke!
