Scientology using Halcyon in promo video

Post by firebug »

I assume they have not been licensed to use it.
It seems a bizarre choice for scientology to use given the songs content and their rejection of all psyche drugs
The video compares scientologys founder L Ron Hubbard to Martin Luthur King, Nelson Mandela and Mother Theresa
The video can be found here

If anything, halcyon is actually an anti drug tune.

Mind you I do see your point about the scientologists - they're bonkers!... after all, we all know that, actually, Phil is like MLK and Paul is a cross between Mandela and Mother Theresa....

That is disappointing.

Mind you there is some music bod in our national broadcaster that uses Orbital every time there is a drugs, crime or general anti-social behavior item on current affairs programmes. So they ain't the only ones to use it out of context.

Funny you should say that - someone did once put on a link to a shockingly bad hardcore mix. All hell broke loose - he didn't appreciate the feedback....

scientology is a dangerous moneymaking scam masquerading as a religion.

as for whether they have a "normal" god, here's a clip from south park that tells the actual story the scientology "religion" is based on. sounds pretty reasonable, right?
