Who is the best artist you've never seen?
Who will your musical life not be complete until you have seen play live? The Holy Grail, the one you've been waiting for...
mine... Having ticked mu-ziq off the list on saturday, would have to be Brothomstates

Meat Beat Manifesto, obviously, although this will be rectified come September

Trom, if you've read the two brothomstates live-gig related threads, you know you'd probably be in for a surprise if you'd go to see Lassi Nikko.

Atleast at the moment you should be expecting to hear something more house than IDM, although very good & interesting at that. Just ask Kansler if you don't believe me...
For me, now that P&P are now more and I can never fill that gap, I'd have to say The Prodigy, even though I didn't like their latest offering that much and Maxims MCing annoys the crap out of me.
Oh and nice to see jof making an appearance.

artist list ist 1st

My list of best artists I have never seen live is exactly the same as my list of best artists itself...
That's why this thread is no-good from my point of view.
Although, in fact, I have seen brothomstates.

(twice; not disappointing in the least, just surprising)
oh, and the orb.
but the rest? come on, I haven't seen anybody.
poor sod, me.

these days i'd have to stop and think, which i'm too lazy to do right now, 'cos there's bound to be several.
but top of my all-time never-seen-but-really-really-really-really-want to list is underworld.

Hey Kvagga, I'm always around keeping an eye on what you pesky kids are up to
I saw The Prodigy many moons ago at Brixton Academy during the Fat of the Land tour: pretty good night, despite the dancefloor collapsing halfway through and it having to be stopped for half an hour or so.

Hey jof, good to see you out of retirement - too busy moderating?
4 posts? -
p'ah! as a good friend of mine used to say...
anyway... I'm much more a fan of B'states IDM styles but I still loved
Matala Bobo... this track will definitely appeal to House/IDM crossover fans...

Hmmm... Who I would love to see live but haven't done so yet...
At the moment, I suppose it's only Ulrich Schnauss that I haven't yet seen live...
I tend to believe that if I don't make an effort to go and see someone play live, then it might possibly be the last chance I have to see them before they never play live again, and then regret it for the rest of my life!
Obviously, I would have loved to have seen Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley perform, but unfortunately, I'll have to resort to videos!

Pink Floyd - I would have loved to have seen The Wall performed live
More recently i have always wanted to see Nine Inch Nails....and this is now to be realised on the 14th July at Brixton Academy...
Electronica wise i have never seen Lemon Jelly - so i hope to tick this one off at some point in the not to distant future.

I'm struggling...
After a long hard think i would say
New Order (will be ticked off this summer though)
Adam Johnson
FSOL (non-ISDN gig of course)
LFO (a bit of me thinks i've already experienced live LFO...weird)
People i have seen live that i would say go hear/see are Arovane, Brothomstates (he was glitch IDM when i saw him), Hermann and Kleine, Mr Projectile, Lackluster, Bobby Bird (HIA), Ulrich Schnauss, Autechre, Boards of Canada, Plaid...i could go on.

Boards of Canada, Massive Attack & DJ Shadow are probably top of my must see list...
I never saw Pearl Jam, and I was a huge fan... I don't think I'd bother now, but in their heyday (Ten era) I would have sawed off my leg with a rusty spoon to see them, Nirvana too.
I would have to side with nick on the "RIP" front:
Hendrix, The Doors, Marley, Beatles.
Jurassic 5, Aphex, White Stripes, Beck, fleetwood Mac, Orb.
Luckily I have managed to see most of the people that have "touched me" throughout my life (No MJ jokes please)
