Hello!

I'm looking for some recommendations for visiting your fair country! We're going to a wedding in Kelowna in August, and we're going to make a 2 week holiday of it. We land in Vancouver on a Wednesday and have 3 days to fill there, then a few days in Kelowna and then a week with a car, and the plan is to explore the Rockies.

We've got a guide to Canada and a few relatives over there who've given us recommendations, but I just thought I'd try and get a second opinion about what's good and what's not good to see/visit around that area?

Of course, it's a big country, and I don't know where you live, and I don't know if you've even been to BC! So just tell me to shut up if necessary! :D

Cheers!

Rich (and Kath)

My very own thread and I'm not even going to be that helpful!

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I've never been out to BC! I live near Toronto, so it's almost as far to Vancouver as it is to London (well 1000km difference) and the flights cost just about as much.

What are you interested in doing? A couple uni friends of mine have moved out there and are living in the Rockies, I can pick their brains for you!

My friend BJ says:
Well, it's hard to go wrong, really... everything's pretty beautiful. Yoho National Park and Field are pretty incredible, and much more tame than Banff NP
Truffle Pigs Cafe in Field is pretty incredible, cheaper than most
Banff is fun if they're into shopping
Definitely check out Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, etc

Cheers Aimee! Appreciate the info, and understand - I've never been to the Scottish Highlands, and they're less than 200 miles away!

We've taken a good look at those links, and there's some interesting stuff there! Thanks again! :D
