Orbital...remastered?

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Orbital...remastered?

Post by darkorb »

So is there any chance for the bros to go back and possibly re-master and re-release their albums? Considering how incredibly complex their material is, a re-master would be goodness (not to say their releases where bad quality).

Think of it. Maybe a second disc to accompany each, with b-sides? Or a flip side that plays it in surround sound?

Maybe im just daydreaming.

Didn't Paul mention in an old interview (with Badger I think?) that there could be talk of a rare & unreleased album some point in the future?

Remasters could be a great shout, but would it be dependant on who actually owns the recordings (London Records or P&P)?

I think the answer of who owns the publishing rights was given when the 'Halcyon' compilation came out... I remember some important people were never consulted about it, which pretty much indicates to me that up until 'Blue', P&P have no publishing rights.

Damn good question, I never went out and bought it, nor when they "reissued/repackaged" with The Beloved compilation album, "The Sun Rising"...

Given the fact that they obviously spent peanuts on the album cover, and the way it came out, I seriously doubt whether they spent any more money remastering any tracks...

So considering it is Orbital's 20th, I wonder if this might be plausible...?
