I was just wondering if any of the forum members can remember any of the line-ups for the early megadogs.

I remember seeing Orbital once or twice at the rocket in the early 90's , and at Brixton academy new years eve 93/94 and 94/95, but cannnot remeber any of the other acts ( except the ozric tentacles NYE 93). I also went to a great line-up which included underworld and the Grid.

Megadog will always hold a great place in my heart , as will Orbital :D

Eventually (at some point this year, allegedly!), the Megadog website will be launched here - http://www.megadog.co.uk/ - something I've been waiting for a long time to appear! :P

With regards to other artists, essentially it's a who's who of electronic music - i.e. Aphex Twin, Meat Beat Manifesto, Autechre, Eat Static, System 7, The Black Dog, 808 State, Drum Club, etc...

Orbital and Midi Circus crew:

In 1993, the Megadog tour that Orbital were involved in (Midi Circus) included the following dates:

Midi Circus

The Megadog Midi Circus Tour, included Orbital, the Aphex Twin, Drum Club, Eat Static, Spooky, System 7 and Underworld.

June 8 Leeds Town & Country Club
June 9 Brighton Centre
June 9 Sheffield Leadmill
June 10 Manchester Academy
June 11 Bristol Anson Rooms
June 11 Glasgow The Arches
June 12 Cardiff University
June 16 Nottingham Rock City
June 19 London Brixton Academy

(June 9th and June 11th have duplicate entries, btw!)

And for an article from 1993 on Megadog, check here:

yeah I've been waiting for the megadog website to get up and running for a long time as well ! Here's hoping it does !

Thanks for the info and article links usernick ! got a few old mixmags and NME's tucked away in my old man's garage, so might have to have a root around to try and find out who played at some of the gigs.

The brixton show 93/94 is up there with Glastonbury 1994 in terms of best ever live gig for me. When I listen to "Monday" it takes me back there to the exact feeling and state of mind :D
