Just opened the post and have recieved a lovely letter telling me off for doing 64mph in a 50 zone apparantly.
This was on the M4 as well. Didnt see the camera wherever it was.
Lovely legacy of Macstock.

Unlicky - that'l be one of those around the Bath junction, currently raking in £'000s weekly.

I actually think they're a very good thing and I KNOW that Mucus agrees with me...

Lol.
Burn all the fuckers out, the gatso's and the truvelos.
Another way, to make the motorists pay.

Fair enough, point taken, but I wasnt doing 60 in 30 zone.
Speeding in residential areas is out of order - I was on a motorway and for some reason it was a 50 zone even though the maximum speed on a motorway is 70. (lol)
Understandably if there are workforce maintaining the roads the speed limit is dropped and that must be adhered to but there wasnt in the area I was caught speeding.
However, I shall be a good girl and pay the fine and take the points, even though if I was drunk and killed someone I'd probably get off scot free.

Pooka, if you have received a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP), all you have to do is say that you weren't driving the car and that you can't remember who was at the time of the alleged offence.

If they don't have a photograph of the driver (which they won't have if it is the usual Gatso which takes photos of the back of the car), they can't prove who was driving and will give up before it gets to court.

It works - I know.

BTW, there were some roadworks on the M4 just outside of Bath with a 50 mph limit, so you probably got caught by a temporary camera.

It says it has photographic/video evidence but they havent sent any proof.
A friend of mine said that when she was done for speeding, she was sent the evidence, also when she drove in a bus lane. I havent been sent anything so they could be fibbing about the evidence - I dont know.

I dont know what type of camera it was either because I didnt see it.

I wasnt caught speeding on the stretch your talking about though, I went to see a friend in Wales in the morning and it was in
Monmouthshire by the tollau according to the NOIP.

Am shitting now though because after Cardiff there was a van on a gantry above the motorway but as soon as I saw it I slowed down. I was taking the piss a bit though so I'm crossing my fingers now.

The photographic evidence will probably be a picture of the back of the car, with a display showing what speed you were doing.

It is evidence that your car was being driven over the speed limit, but NOT evidence that you were driving at the time (unless you were sat in the back seat looking out of the back window whilst driving, which would be different offence completely!).

There are cameras which point at the front of speeding cars, but not many of them.

You can ask for the photographic evidence before you complete the NOIP.

Anyway, I'm not suggesting you should do it unless you are comfortable doing so, but it is a loophole which can be exploited. PM me if you want more info.

Absolutely I do! The more cameras & general persecutory devices in the Bath area, the better.

Speed Cameras = Cash Machines.

They're allegedly used on accident blackspots. Bollocks, the coppers just thow them down where they know they'll catch as many motorists as possible unawares.

Some people may or may not be amused to hear that I got a letter form the cymraig heddlu yesterday notifying me of my speed of 63 in a 50 zone.

Which takes me up to 12 points...
