Yep, I reckon it's pretty darn good. Can't wait for the live stuff - assuming he'll perform...

Listening to this again, it's got a heavy Edwin Astley influence... Very nice indeed.

'Danger Man (track is called 'High Wire')', 'Department S', loads of stuff...

'Haven't We Met Before?' also has elements of John Barry in it, especially 'Midnight Cowboy'... Not surprising really knowing Paul's 'obsession' with '60s TV/movie composers, who have both John Barry and Edwin Astley in their ranks... :D

Haven't We Met Before?

Post by Rythma »

Wow, that song is really something else. Definately there is something to it that makes it very un-Orbital to me. It sounds like something you'd hear in an action movie. I think it doesn't have quite the depth of Orbital's stuff. Many times I've described listening to Orbital as being like puting on a helmet of music. And this definately isn't. But I give it a huge thumbs up for originallity. I can't wait to hear what else he's got coming our way.

I like it!

Very movie soundtrack, very emotive. Lots of depth and layers and ideas in there.

In some ways it's very Orbital, with that uplifting / melancholic blend. But lighter, fresher sounding.

Quite John Barrie-esque. Reminds me a bit of "Way Out", which is one of my favourite Orbital tracks. Which is probably a big part of the reason i like it.

Can't wait to hear the album. Get a move on, Paul!

New track

For a moment I thought I was playing an old warcraft game, but I like it. The orchestra stuff is big now, I guess.. I've always liked Orbital for it's soundtrack feel.

No offence to Phil or Paul, but if you want BIG soundtrack feelings, you need Hybrid in your life...

Always thought FSOL deserved a soundtrack to a nice Sci-fi film....

I'm surprised by the negative reaction... I finally got around to listening to it, and I think it's absolutely fantastic. I could listen to music like that all day long. ;)
