Yeah looks cool - as long as they ramp up the action & tone down the "Dawsons Creek" angst shite.

'Dawsons Creek angst shite?' - You mean the bits where people, y'know, act and stuff? :)

Lovin' the black cossie. Tho it looked way cooler in the comix with its big white spidee logo.

Hope the Sandman effects in the pic above are unfinished - cos that looks poo...

I'm confident they'll make Sandman work in the movie. Spider-Man 2 set a new standard for superhero fights on film, in my opinion. The fight scene on the train is just incredible. Sam Raimi is a god. Hail to the King, baby.

By the way Hex, your sig (which I totally love by the way) made me think, are you looking forward to the Transformers movie? I just saw the teaser and its totally pointless. Comes across like Armageddon 2 or something...Mr Bay worries me deeply!

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Transformers... although some of the things I've been hearing about it are a bit worrying. I mean a flatscreen tv transformer? An Xbox transformer? I wonder how much Microsoft is paying for that.

While Michael Bay has directed some really shitty films, he knows how to direct huge action. The Island was a step forward for him, and I'm hoping he can make Transformers fun, if nothing else. Also, apparently producer Spielberg is a huge fan of the Transformers from way back, let's hope that translates into a good movie.

Absolutely. That was what set Spiderman 2 above all else in the genre. The balance of emotive story and action was perfect, and I hope there is just as much in number three.

I have high hopes for this.

This one looks nice and dark.

I like the black costume.

I already know the ending to this one. 8)

Spider-Man 2 did the action stuff well, but the love story was still handled really badly. Far too slow-moving and dreary - drags the whole movie right down.

Plus I think Mary Jane's been done all wrong in this series, and simply isn't appealing enough. She's a proper slut in the first film - she gets off with three or four different guys! Peter Parker's too good for a girl like that, so you don't sympathise with his obsession over her - which you're clearly supposed to, when it takes up such a big portion of the movies.

Hopefully in this one they'll concentrate more on Peter himself. I know they've cast... um... whatsherface as his new love interest, so hopefully that'll move things away from Mary Jane. Spider-Man 4's where all the Venom stuff's going to kick off though. That should be fun. :)

And for the record, Superman: The Movie is the best superhero film. Batman Begins is way better than the Spider-Man movies as well.

I really enjoyed the Dawson Creekish style of their relationship.
I disagree with Dung in the "slut" stakes.
But then I think shes cute anyway and I would put up with the fact that shes the local bike

Batman Begins is also a good film, but I tend to lean toward The Hulk as my favourite "Superhero" film.

But then I really really fancy Jennifer Connelly, since I saw her in Labrynth all those years ago.....

I disagree with you on Superman: the Movie. But I hate the character Superman, so that might color my perception of that movie.

Batman Begins was fantastic, though, can't argue there.

Top 5 superhero movies in my opinion:

1. X-Men 2
2. Batman Begins
3. Spider-Man 2
4. Spider-Man 1
5. X-Men 1

Also, while I adore Batman Begins, the fight scenes aren't to my tastes. The cuts are way too quick, so you don't really see what's happening.

That's the point - the whole film is about distraction and confusion so that your enemy doesn't know what he's up against. The fight scenes convey that brilliantly.

The Spider-man films are way better than Batman Begins, which i thought was utter shite!

For super heros you can't beat Spider-man......FACT.

I rather like the original Superman films, even though he is by far and away the most ridiculous superhero - you just can't make pants on the outside cool no matter what you do! Which explains the success of Smallville - no pants!

Loved the Spidee films so far, he was always my favourite, but I personally find the casting of the Mary Jane a bit lukewarm. She's supposed to be a fairly brash and racy kinda girl that Pete just can't hope to get, but she's just DULL in the films. Plus Spiderman always had the best 'comedy-one-liners-whilst-bashing-badguys' routine in the comics which is strangely absent in the movies. Oh and the Goblins costume in the first film was godawful - could have been anyone under there.

Gotta agree with Hex on Xmen 2 - that was ACE!

Thought Hulk was good until they started with the giant poodle...
