Orbital Guitar Tabs project?

Hello. I'm sure to be quickly laughed out of this forum for this, so just read it, have a laugh, and I'll go back into hiding.

Has anybody done any work on transcribing any Orbital tunes into guitar tab?

Orbital is hands down my favorite electronic artist of all time, and In Sides (with US bonus disc 1 featuring Times Fly, the Box EP) etc. is my favorite album of all time out of any artist.

Let it be understood that I am very familiar with Orbital, and I understand that VERY few Orbital tracks contain anything resembling a guitar.

That being said, I plan on starting a project soon, the ultimate goal of which would be to have guitar tabs available for every song.

This will take many years and is just for fun. If anybody has anything to contribute or is willing to tab out some stuff that would be cool. Otherwise, I'll just do it myself.

I'm interested in guitar tabs and bass tabs. Preferably entire songs, not just main melody lines. I know there are parts that will probably be impossible to transcribe, but the challenge is what makes it a fun project.

Ok, laughing times over, I'll go back into hiding now. Thanks

:)

What he said :)

Also if anyone has done an orchestra score of any of Orbital's stuff please pm me.
Not for me personally, but for a mate who plays in an orchestra and they are always looking for stuff that you wouldn't expect

Boards and Plaid use guitars but plaid tend to take the sound somewhere else :)

One of the remix competitions produced an orchestra version of Attached which was nice.

You do realise that guitar, bass etc. tabs are going to become illegal thanks to the BPI etc. because they allow the illegal copying of music.

This is not a joke.

However, I've never let a little think like laws etc. interfere with my music ;)

damn, does that include midi files, best forget the "I" remix of Dr Pressure then, don't wanna get involved in yet another court trial

Dunno about MIDI files, but I do know that they're definitely trying to make tabs illegal as it allows for unauthorised reproduction of the copyrighted music.

Hell, we made 'Doctor Pressure' illegally, why should it stop anyone else? ;)

Talking about Dr. Pressure, I just saw it on the Disney channel as the background music for an ad for their cartoons, with all the toons dancing to it. Seems a bit unapproriate because of the original lyrics (which sadly weren't included). :D

Oh and sorry, can't help with the tabs project as I'm more of a piano man myself, but good luck with it. :)

For the Id stuff I found a bunch of midi files got the notes from them as a starting point, using keyboards to identify notes helped as well, chucked it all through my Digitech with some improvisation and hoped for the best

After awhile like with any artist, started get a feel for the patterns and tricks they tended to lean towards

There ya go Secrets out !!!

Go Forth and boldy play

Yeah about the only thing I could find were the Halcyon bass tabs, which were dead simple to figure out anyway.

I suppose midi files would be an excellent place to start, I'll poke around a bit or maybe someone who's nice can point me in the right direction. Thanks

I'm waiting for a new power supply, but once I get my good PC up and running I'll start working on this. I'll post again as soon as the project starts taking off.
