first: i'm from germany so please be forgiving with my english ^^
in the last two moths i tried to mix some music and after showing my friends (they said the tracks are "ok" ...) i want to hear the opinion of real electronic fans so i decided to post them here.
these are my first trys so be not to hard

and if someon has self-made music he willingly can post it, too^^

i've listened to "We All Gonna Die" and "Music Kills Coversation".

Not too sure what direction you are aiming for? Whether you prefer melodies or more experimental side of things. We all have different tastes on here so never take feedback too much to heart as that person may not have any taste in good music. lol.

"We All Gonna Die" has more of a melody but for me i would prefer different sounds to what you used and maybe a bit more depth.

"Music Kills Conversation" appealed more probably because it was a bit disjointed and experimental yet it still had some flow to it including a melody. Again the sounds you used didnt really appeal to me.

Not too bad for first attempts but as Loopz said I would have used different sounds.

The mix is also a bit "flat" - are you using Reason for the final mix of the tracks?

yes, the sounds and the mix is suboptimal because i don't use the best programs (fruity loops, audacity) and i have to to practice a lot to bring out the best.

atm i would say i prefer the experimental but my music hasn't a special direction.

Its def a good first attempt mate.

The only thing i would say is beef your beats up a little bit, they sound a bit like "whats come with the software" to me.

i wouldnt say beef...i would just say change them. Make them clicky , nasty, harsh, distrorted or whatever you prefer.

By beef i meant pack them out a little bit more as they sounded a bit too basic....although "beef" as in Plumping is never a bad thing....too glichy can get annoying IMO, unless glitchyness is your thing obviously!

Loopz is actually blind and just "sees" the world as a series of glitchy clicks and pops which his brain translates into a virtual map of his surroundings. Sort of like a cross between Daredevil and a dolphin.

I just think that its better to do something different - everyone has done, is doing and always will do beefy beats. Its an easy option like acid

I think you still misunderstand what i meant Loopz. Beef as in do more with the beat and give it more depth, not have the basic "as it comes out the box" beat. We are kinda singing from the same hymn sheet.

i understand your meaning of beef I like the idea of not using out the box sounds but I also like the idea of dirtying music as well. Boards of Canada used to take nice samples/loops and dirty them rather than cleaning them up. I prefer the less natural beat sounds and to me that is where electronic music becomes more experimental. Each to their own i know

Jeez, attack my musical style why don't you? Acid Breaks is where I'm at. Anyone can make acid, but making GOOD acid is something else

Hey , I also gave a listen to "We All Gonna Die" and "Music Kills Coversation" (btw, should this be conversation? You might've mistyped the file name...). Have to agree with everyone else here: Very good for first attempts, but definately do something to your drums (they sound very "factory preset", like someone already mentioned). Someone also critised the mixing being a bit flat, and I agree. Everything seems to be concentrated somewhere in the middle, whereas you could instead spread the sound a bit more to the higher and lower frequencies.

Some things that I don't think have been mentioned yet: I'd like to see more elements in your songs. IMHO, the pads just can't carry the whole thing through on their own and need even more stuff on the side (or on top) to keep things interesting. I really liked the distorted (sampled?) stuff at the beginning of "Music Kills Coversation" and you should use more cool ideas like that. I think I should also mention that using the "DJ" prefix in an artists name has gotten pretty old (especially if you don't actually DJ, which I ofcourse don't know if you do) and if I were you, I'd go as plain "Roorback".

Anyway keep on doing more, since you already seem to be getting better at it (I find "Music Kills Coversation" much better than "We All Gonna Die").
