What's up with Apollo 440 these days?

I was just thinking that I haven't heard much from these guys for a while and as I checked their website, there's very little info and it just says that "the band are still working hard as producers and media gurus, now specialing in syncing work for film and television".
I really hope this doesn't mean that they've totally gone into soundtrack territory now and stopped making artist albums. I seem to recall Dude Descending A Staircase flopping (which I would blame on bad advertising, as I thought the double album was the greatest thing they'd done since Millenium Fever)... Then again their most recent song, that remix of Addicted to Bass, became hugely popular, so maybe bad success isn't the case here.
Anyway I've always loved the band, no matter how cheesy they are compared to the ofter big names of "electronica" and wish they haven't gone the way of the dodo (or P&P, Leftfield, etc...)

I'm afraid I can't bring any info on the table.
I confess I haven't heard "Dude" yet, but let's just say I will have soon...
I'm a huge fan of Millennium Fever, but with their later albums it takes an effort for me to appreciate.

I remember getting purlieu (back when he was still called caisenma) into Dude, by telling him it's the closest thing they've ever done to Millenium. It's like Millenium beats and atmosphere with more of the funk from latter releases and with more disco too. Tracks that I'd recommend are: Christiane (personal favourite, very cinematic), Something's Got To Give (in all it's poppines it's still lovely), Escape To Beyond The Planet Of The Super Ape, Disco Sucks and Hustler Groove. The double album has got to have one of the best covers out there too...
Also I have to say that even though everyone else here seems to hate Getting High On Your Own Supply, I actually like the album and can appreciate it's jockrockschoolboycheddartothemax attitude.

It might not be very deep, but it sure as heck is fun.

Cheers mate!
This shows what I get for not following sports of any kind...
Gotta be honest though; even though I like the original Ring Of Fire, that remix didn't sound that good from the sample (the KLF were way better at using crowd cheering in their music IMO

).
Still, good to see their alive and kicking.

Know what you mean about the Ring of Fire tune - sounds like they just used the drum loop from Krupa...

lazy comes to mind...

Please excuse my impertinence, but could it be that they've stopped producing music, because they've finally realised that they are really quite shite?

They weren't the best band in the world and were more singles orientated, but their performance of 'Lost In Space' on TOTP will go down as legendary...

I thought Electro Glide in Blue was quite a good album actually, especially the track Pain In Any Language.

I knew I was gonna get at least one response like this.
I guess they're a bit like roquefort; pretty cheesy and an aquired taste, but something I still enjoy loads.

Agreed - really good album.
