Nice one:
"There is no on-Site Car parking at this Premier Travel Inn.There is a NCP car park nearby at a discounted rate of £8"
Yeah, was only mentioning it as I was trying to find out where exactly it was - personally, I can't remember what my local's called - I just turn up there and find out it's changed names!

It was pretty fantastic really. Much odder than the description on the festival website made it sound though.
The venue was nice though it did get far too hot near the end (someone actually fainted near to us).
It started out fairly ambiently with the first piece being read by an uplit Irvine Welsh. The shocked looks started to appear on everyones faces though when it became obvious that it was about avoidance of masturbation (by means such as vigorous exercise). The music and visuals accentuated the slightly comedic uncomfortable atmosphere then soared after the reading to wonderful dark electronica. The cycle of spoken word and musical excellence continued until the final piece about roasting flesh and a track with vocals and violin.
The worst piece was either the one about geriatric sex or swimming naked. I think they may have scarred my fragile little mind.

Yeah, I actually enjoyed the stories, which summarised as thus:
- Don't masturbate - listen to holy music
- Masturbation using thin steel rods inserted into penis, or (upon failing to find a thin steel rod), using candle wax, which breaks off and results in surgery... Or the utilisation of carrots elsewhere in the body!
- Sex with a granny (who has incontinence) - very bizarre
- Sexual gratification for a boy who masturbates in a swimming pool, and also simultaneously decides to use the pipe (that the water flows into the pool) for enhanced gratification, with disastrous consequences - i.e. when he can't 'disengage' himself from the aforementioned pipe, and ends up with his intestines being pulled out of his body, of which he has to bite in half to free himself!
- Some boy who decided to jump into a boiling lake after their dog - both 'melt' in the boiling water, leaving not that much behind...
Typical Irvine Welsh and Chuck Palaniuk (sp?) stories!
However, the incidental music was excellent, and the three full tracks left us wanting to hear more (the last featuring a violinist and a female vocalist).
Leaflet that came with the show suggests a summer 2006 album release with spontaneous gigs around the album launch.
