Halcyon mash-up

I found a mash-up of "Halcyon" and "Leave It" by Yes called "Halcyon It" done by Audiodile

The mix should have been smoothed in parts, but overall it's pretty good :)
Audiodile:
The acapella of "Leave It" has been floating around for years and I've always wanted to do something with it. This isn't exactly what I'd had in mind, but since Orbital had sampled a small part of the song already, I thought it might be interesting to have them just take the whole song.

I didn't know Orbital had sampled Yes on Halcyon

Yeah, I think so to. But doesn't that only appear on the single version, I think it has been removed on the brown album version?

I've got the 'pella for the Yes track... I downloaded it one day as I was curious, listened to it and the Orbital sample jumped straight out at me...

Audiodile's stuff is OK, but he's got a way to go yet with the bootlegs...

Very interesting find. Overall its pretty choppy but a pretty good mix. Also, the sample used in halcyon is very noticeable to me as well.

A lot of artists are associated with Halcyon: Opus 3, Bon Jovi, Belinda Carlise, and now Yes. I wonder if there are even more hidden in there?

Ooops, forgot The Darkness.

Can't agree with you on this one.

Audiodile should have tidied up the mix more, the beats don't mat ch and stick out in places. But overall IMO the Yes track gels well enough with Halcyon to justify the mash-up.

I have no big liking for Yes, their 70's output is OK enough I guess, but the stuff they've done since that is really not my thing. I guess the albums Jon Anderson put out with Vangelis is my pick of the lot.

Yes totally rock... They have the world's best keyboard player, it's official! Well, I think he's left again, but they're still good...

Ah, Yes - used to include Trevor Horn (ZTT) in their numbers at some point...

The 808 remixes of "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" are superb (well, I would say that, wouldn't I?)! :P

Yes invited The Buggles (Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes) to replace Anderson and Wakeman when those two quit the band after Yes' Tormato album.

I dig the first Buggles album, it's synth-pop at it's best IMO, but the Drama album is sadly little reminiscent of that. It's neither Buggles (new wave) or Yes (prog), but more or less just thrown together for a reason to do a tour and fill contractual obligations.

Yes broke up after that album for awhile. Downes and Steve Howe eventually went on to form the MOR supergroup Asia, Trevor Horn went on to become a superproducer, the other members worked with an idea for another supergroup of 70's has-beens (Cinema) but ended up getting Anderson back in the band and recorded their big come back album 90125.
