Pooka wrote:The Last King of Scotland - What an amazing film. When James Mcavoys character realises the sheer brutality of Idi Amin, it truly is shocking.
Powerful film.
Oh and on the flipside, I watched Dreamgirls on the plane back from Singapore and what a steaming pile it was.
How was the trip Melvis?

Oh it was excellent Rich, I am totally in love with SE Asia.
I really want to travel through Sumatra and Borneo. Hoping to get another asian holiday in before the year is out.

The March of the Penguins - Happy Feet for adults!!! A very good docufilm - dunno how them penguins can stand all that cold and standing around!!! Lickle chicks are very cute tho
The Guardian with Kev Costner (not one of my fav actors) and the yummy Ashton Kutcher - good film about sea rescue swimmers, didnt really need the romance in it but enjoyed it all the same!!

Casino Royale - I was actually a little disappointed to be honest, I mean the darkness of Bonds character was good but it had few of the amazing action scenes I have come to love and expect from a big budget bond movie. Where were the obligatory car chases? They had an Aston DBS for Gods sake, at least take it out and rag the shite outta it, not just a 10sec fast bit of driving only to roll the bugger!! Infact there was far too much time spent at the Poker Table for me. I also thought the story was quite shallow. Dont get me wrong although it doesnt sound like it, I did enjoy this but felt it didnt really live up to all the hype. The most memorable bit for me was the "free running" chase at the start of the film. Daniel Craig was very good though and long may he continue to be Bond.
