Sin City... The most stunning comic ever right there on the screen... just outstanding.. !

Also got in the post this morning a BEST BUY sin city preview disc... which had a 10 min making of segment on it..

That showed comparrisons of the comic to film, and OH MY god it is so spot on..

The opening sequence was shot even before Robert had the rights to make it.. he did it in a day with Josh Hartnett and flew frank miller in for the day.. to wet his appitite and let him make it..

The showed it to all the other actors and said wanna do it... Willis within 5 mins said yes..

Just stunning..

Now I wish he would Hurry up and Direct MADMAN !!! a Mike Allred comic... I love it so it has to be done rodriguiz has been saying for a few years he wants to do it. !

The version of Sin City I saw was, er, 'dodgy' - not in terms of quality, it was perfect - but was on 3 seperate discs as 3 seperate stories - is the proper released film the three stories edited together? Also, it didn't include 'The Dame Wore Red' that's in Aimee's link. At least, don't think it did, it was 4am, I was very drunk and might have nodded off for a minute or 15. Even so, the film made a huge impression on me...

I saw a preview screening of Sin City last week. Very smart indeed. The stories are played out separately, albeit out of order. They're not all playing simultaneously, thankfully.

It's been delayed until August 11th here in Australia. When's it coming out in the UK?

Layer Cake.

Yeh I enjoyed this film. Had heard mixed reports, but I was entertained for an hour and a half.

Reminded me of a modern "Get Carter"... the original starring Sylvester Stallone was a classic.

Watched Downfall (Der Untergang) last night. Quite an eye opener, very disturbing, graphic and i think everyone could learn from the film. Bruno Ganz interpretation of Adolf Hitler is worthy of an award. It was one of those films where the credits roled and no one in the cinema moved. Recommended.

I second Der Untergang (Downfall).

Something completely different from such utterly unrealistic films like "The Rise of Evil" with Robert Carlyle as Hitler (which was alright as fiction, but scandalous otherwise).
