Funky Dung wrote:Sounds great. Here's hoping it's a good selection of tracks and performances.
Some requests: Style from 1999, Chime from 2004, Impact from any year (or every year!), Satan from 2002, Belfast from 2002, The Box from 1999/2002, You Lot from 2004 and Walk Now from 1994. Ta.

The tracklisting has already been compiled... I can't remember whats on there and can't be arsed to find the email with the details on it now, but it is rather nice, trust me...

Nope. Not saying any more than that, but having checked the list, you'll be disappointed if you wanted that.
Ed's going to be VERY happy though

Hope the artwork is good.
Plus i hope there's some extras like maybe some of the interviews they did after performances, Satan Unplugged from 99 and maybe even some of Paul's home vids from Glasto?
Thats probably not gonna happen but we can hope.
Oh and 5.1 would be good too.

Where are people getting the idea that it's a compilation of earlier gigs? Steve is only saying its from Glasto 2004, am I missing something? Also, I am unclear is this a CD or DVD release, or both. If it's DVD, I hope its for all regions, because those of us in the states missed out on The Altogether 5.1.

From the
news page:
"We have been given the green light to mention the Orbital release. It will be a compilation of Orbital live moments from the infamous Glastonbury festival. The release will be next year but hopefully as early as January.
Confirmation of the package plus tracks and from what year will be posted when we can.
No doubt there will be many questions but please do not email in as we will be unable to answer anything just yet. "
And no, from the quote above, it doesn't mention whether it's a CD or DVD, so any comments that state specifically what format it's on are purely speculative (at this moment in time).
Michael Eavis has
stated the following:
"After that, there'll be releases of audio CD's and DVD's for past and future performances. 25% of the proceeds will go to some of Glastonbury's favorite charities.
The festival is reportedly talking to Doves, Orbital, Feeder, and Ian Brown and more about releasing their past performances."
We shall await in intrepidation until Steve's next post on the matter!

Thx Usernick,
I interpret the news blurb as being a compilation of the Glasto 2004 gig, not other gigs. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Doesn't the quote "It will be a compilation of Orbital live moments from the infamous Glastonbury festival" mean that it'll be from several year's performances?
EDIT: Ah, I see what you mean - I think that the picture that states 'Glastonbury 2004' as it's caption was just an example picture that Steve used, and doesn't specifically relate to the news!
(Pure speculation, I have no clue until Steve confirms anything)!

Dunno why, but I'm pretty unexcited about this......
Maybe it's cos they already released a live album of sorts when they did the Satan Live ep's....

I got it from the phrase "It will be a compilation of Orbital live moments". Why would they need to compile anything if it was just one gig?

Well that is good news. With the title of the news story, "Live in Glastonbury", I was mistaken. Can't wait for the release.

It would be great if Tech Park and Impact were on there from 2002.
