Advice for those going on Friday - when they say warehouse, they mean warehouse! The toilets and cloakroom are outside and it can be very cold in the main room. I suggest some kind of long sleeved outer garment be worn. See you in there. Wendy x

80% of the people there were blokes and about 60% of those blokes had beards. I think beard music kind of sums it up really. As it's not the sort of 'music' that lends itself very well to dancing, beard stroking is the only visual way to express ones appreciation. Unfortunately, I don't have a beard and therefore could not appreciate it. It was no holes barred flid music and I left my calipers at home.
To sum the night up in one word.... Challenging

Autechre's performance yields stroking of bodily hair. I knew it, they is sexual.
I caught Autechre live last tour (Untilted) and I thought it was their best set to date (well, Confield show was pretty wicked too, to be perfectly honest) and it was extremely dancy (btw: I have a very sweet mixer-board-out recording of their show from Glasgow of that tour (Untilt), and let me tell you, it's got some amazing material on there).
What I need to know is:
1. New music?
2. Any old tracks? (Untilted show had a brilliant version of Pro Radii and Sublimit, and some say that LCC is "performed" but it must be a "REMIX" because apart from that triple snare thang in the beat, it sounds nothing like it).
3. Are they back into "headphuq" music yet? Or is it still dancy a-la Untilted? (Question open to all Autechre die-hards).
4. Anyone know where I can ahem_dwnld_ahem an _ahemp3meha_ AHEM! you can always ahe-PM-m AHEM AHEM COUGH COUGH COUGH SHIT.
I'd talk more, but I'm tired of coughing.

Great review. Shame you missed Howells. He was on tip-top form.

First the questions...
1) Its all new music as in not released but it was a slightly reworked version of their last tour set.
2) No old tracks.
3) see above

4) Not seen anywhere on the web...
As for the night in general. PA was Too quiet. Beer too expensive and generaly was disappointed by the live sets. LFO just played everything at 200bpm and Autechre was too quiet to make any impact. I also thought the laser show was erm pointless

Autechre should be in a dark room and loud. Then it would be a worthy night.
Big thumbs down - hope they turn it back into a brewery

Aww... They cut Pro Radii? That shit was brilliant, as was Sublimit live... Little chimy bells and those beats...

They were in a lit room and quiet? That's, uh, NOT an Autechre gig as far as I'm concerned...
Anyone know when their next album is due?

1) To me its new music as its far from the originals but they are elements of tracks from the last album used. So its very similar to the last tour. hope that clears my confusion
Fully agree about it not being a proper Autechre gig. It was very disappointing.
