Agreed. Up there with Anchorman, which coming from me is high praise, as I used to watch that movie daily.
I just finished watching Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. It was really good, and pretty weird (as most movies based on Charlie Kaufman scripts tend to be).

King Kong.
wow.
Naomi Watts and Jack Black made my day.
Visually incredible, and a few Jacksonian tricks (natives that look like something out of Braindead/Dead Alive) to keep it all very interesting.
4½/5

Saw Ang Lee's
Brokeback mountain last night.
Breathtaking in every way, especially visually and the characterisation of the main protagonists.
Basically it's a forbidden love story spanning over 20 years.
Jake Gyllenhaall & Heath Ledger played the lovers and the acting was outstanding. It won't be everyone's cup of tea; I loved it and cried like a baby but my 2 (female) friends didn't shed a tear.
Recommended

(especially to you Tam, if you wanna see a naked Jake

I have changed my mind on that film. First time I watched it I thought it was pretty average and a lot of the jokes didnt work for me.
I watched it again last week and I could not stop laughing. Especially when Jack Black kicked Baxter off the bridge, one of the best drop kicks ever...
I must have had a real grump on when i first watched it....
Also gave school of Rock another airing over the weekend...
Very enjoyable feel good film (if you like Jack Black that is).

I actually thought it was pretty average the first time I saw it too, but it really grew on me.

Donnie Darko - man that's a fucked up film. Doesn't totally make sense to me either. *Reads IMDB*

I need to buy 'The Warriors' on DVD... It is a classic.
Last film I watched was 'It's All Gone Pete Tong' again, but still can't hear 'Kinetic' in it...
I think I'll pop on '24 Hour Party People' in a minute

I still love the coment made by Hooky when he found out that Steve Coogan was going to be playing Tony Wilson... "The biggest c*nt in Manchester being played by the second biggest c*nt in Manchester". Class!!!

Yeah, I think I'll do the same - especially since this weekend's going to be a MancFest (808, MC Tunes, Shaun/Bez, Andy Rourke, Mani, New Order, Elbow, Badly Drawn Boy, Utah Saints) - fab!
