LIstening to Dephic "Acolyte" album - really nice.
Was impressed when I saw them at Glasgow in Sept, the album sounds like a fusion of New Order, Orbital, Shamen & Kraftwerk.
These boys have got a great future ahead of them.
Oooh - first post of the new decade..........

I have to admit to loving Strobe, probably my favourite track of the year, I just love that uplifting apeggiated melody...

Delphic - I bought it because everybody on here is banging on about it.... Sounds quite good on first listen.
Which is a relief, because I would have had to have individually messaged you all involved and express my disbelief and anger at being pressured into buying something I knew nothing about just because you all at some in your lives have had Orbital touch you (not in a pervy way).
So all is peaceful in the Memly camp.

bob marley Vs. Bill Laswell - Dreams Of Freedom: Ambient Translations Of Bob Marley In Dub
It's an album of bob marley songs, given an ambient/dub do-over by Laswell. Bob's vocals are stripped out, and the sound is dreamy-er.
I think it's better then marley's original songs.. after all, he is kind of like the britney spears of reggae
great album. yes

Christ I remember listenining to that when I worked in a record shop years ago...
I went through a bit of a Bill Laswell and Adrian Sherwood phase...
Did you know Bill Laswell played Bass on Herbie Hancocks 'Rockit'?
NP: Plaid - Heavens Door soundtrack
Has anyone seen this film??
