I can see why he has made that decision, but he is already an established 'actor' so I wouldn't have thought that he would ALWAYS be remembered for playing the Doctor.

I always think of Wurzel Gummidge whenever Jon Pertwee is mentioned but maybe that is just my age.

I personally really enjoyed his adaptation of the Doctor and am disappointed he's not continuing with it...

Oh well.

I saw him in a really old (must have been early 70s) play where he played a Man Citeh fan (idolised Denis Law) with a Man United wife. The wife was aboot to give birth on the day of a Citeh match and it was all very hilarious.

Eddie Large was in it as well (seriously).

I can understand his decision though...think of all the old doctors. Now name something else they did. Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker are really the ones that i can name one series they were in. Of course Sylvester etc (the later doctors) are probably best forgotten in all aspects :)

I thought Chris was good but I just didn't enjoy it. Billie Piper got on my tits and it just had the feel of the writer/producers trying too hard to be campy and quirky.

And I am a big kid............

There's going to be another series though... anyone who didn't like Christopher Eccleston's Doctor can still wait for that. :)

Peter Davison - All Creatures Great And Small, A Very Peculiar Practice (which also starred David Troughton, son of Patrick)

I was going to mention Patrick Troughton in the Omen too, but just realised someone's already mentioned that! :P
