Ricky, sorry if I sound like a nob, coz I don't ever mean to but the word is Tenterhooks. These were special hooks used by canvas makers to dry and stretch the canvas after the weaving and washing without punching holes in them. Coz is actually spelled: 'Because'. As a conjunction it means 'for the reason that'. And as a preposition it means 'as a result of'.
