yeah i wasn't sure if i mentioned that here before. kirsty & ulrich are doing an album together, they've been working on it (slowly) for a while, but more recently they've roped in adam f to help them get on with it. should be awesome, frankly

Some other tidbits...
A new remix of "shine" available here
http://www.sutemos.net/en/
And a dancey remix of In All The Wrong Places
http://www.discogs.com/Tom-Middleton-Re ... se/1232978
A Shoreline Dream record is out - the three tracks with Ulrich are not really like Neverchanger - he just plays washy keyboard lines in the background. Good stuff, but no signature Ulrich sound
He also seems to have lost serious weight, judging from recent pics

Good Morning!
Here's a little story:
Woke up in the morning. Got to this site
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... =116310565 -> listened to every track -> went to this site
http://www.japjap.net/ -> listened to every track -> bought the new album ........and now
I'm thinking: "Has Ulrich Schnauss got a new alias?"
Well, of course not....
Is "All the things" a collaboration thing? It sounds so familiar...
CHEERS!

Had a little chat with Ulrich after his gig at Bloc Festival, some bits:
- he's left Independiente, says they did nothing for him. Next album might be even self-released, mp3s on the website.
- a remix compilation is in the works! will feature some less known remixes.
- goodbye remasters etc.. he was really not happy with the 2007 edition

Just got a message from Ulrich who made a correction: he's in fact very happy with the 2008 remaster of "goodbye"

Live remix of Here Today Gone Tomorrow available on a very obscure compilation:
http://payplay.fm/vaportrails
It's as amazing as the original, but has more airy, trancey quality to it - and an amazing breakdown towards the end.
I wish the full gig was available somehow...

Hi Mates!
Listening to the Vapor Trail Version for about 3 months and it's growing .... for me the best track by ulrich schnauss!
Thanks alex for the preview link.

I speak russian, but it's just a silly promo clip by the club residents, where everyone is struggling to describe what Ulrich's music actually sounds like (understandable, considering they're russian minimal-house deejays

.
I prefer the KCRW version of Here Today Gone Tomorrow, it's almost as good sound quality wise, and much more focused. The Vapor Trails version takes forever to arrive to the breakdown, and by then the track is about to end, and there's no time to play out the last part. But it does illustrate the degree of improvisation in Ulrich's gigs, and what he does with his Ableton setup

Ulrich has written liner notes for his shoegaze idols Chapterhouse' magnum opus reissue:
http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=1315554
Very interesting to read his views on the 90s musical landscape in such detail, though I disagree with some of them
Scott Walker cover is magnificent, and (I think) hints at the forthcoming album direction and sound.
