Before that was Dead Famous by Ben Elton, before that Roald Dahls short stories, before that a book on sharks (!)
You wouldnt let me show you my book on Sharks and shark attacks in Australia before you left for your travels!!!

Now that you seem confident if you get a chance you really should check out the Jaws of Death its a fascinating read bud! While i was in Oz i visited some of the places written about in the book which enhanced the read somewhat! Can't guarantee that the pics in the sealed up section wont scare the shoit out of you tho!

Its not about shark attacks mate. Its about sharks! BTW some poor kid got munched on by a shark a few days ago... :( Saw it on the "perpetual news" channel.

The Lovely Bones - Alice Seebold

Just started this but already really enjoying it....

On the back cover of the book..."My name was Salmon, like the fish; first name, Susie. I was fourteen when I was murdered on December 6, 1973. My murderer was a man from our neighborhood. My mother liked his border flowers, and my father talked to him once about fertilizer. This is Susie Salmon. Watching from heaven, Susie sees her happy, suburban family devastated by her death, isolated even from one another as they each try to cope with their terrible loss alone. Over the years, her friends and siblings grow up, fall in love, do all the things she never had the chance to do herself. But life is not quite finished with Susie yet ..."

Also see that a film is coming out in 2007, directed by Peter Jackson.

"My Name Is Red" by Orhan Pamuk.

Very good, especially if you like Umberto Eco's stuff. Rumour has it that the Nobel Prize winning Pamuk has legged it to the US for fear of being assasinated if he'd remained in his native Turkey.

I have almost finshed 'The best a man can get' by John O Farrell and it's been absolutely hilarious.
Gonna go back and read 'Things can only get better' after this. as I never got round to it before.

Terry Pratchet - Reaper Man

Never read any of his books before but they are sooooo well written and totally hilarious. I'm really enjoying his style of mixing the old mystical fantasy world with the new. The characters you can just imagine and their quirky personalities really shine through.

Going to read a little more now before lights out!
