Sandman and Venom would make a fun movie. Topher Grace could make an interesting rival to Tobey Maguire, so fingers crossed they get that right. I can't be arsed with another Green Goblin unless they make the new one very different to the first. And if that's meant to be the alien black costume, it looks cack.

The first two movies were just "okay", IMO. Did some stuff brilliantly (ie. Doc Ock waking up) but the Mary-Jane stuff is just too big a part of the story and is really badly handled. Kirsten Dunst is just plain wrong for the part.

Still... am keen to see it. Far keener for the next Batman movie though.

I'm a big fan too. I really liked Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane although I thought the Green Goblin was a so so enemy.
Spiderman 2 was slightly disappointing for me as a lot of my mates thought it was better than the first one....they were wrong.

Is it still Sam Raimi??

Yeah. it's still Raimi. I think the best thing they could do is shoot 3 & 4 back to back, with 3 being the black costume story and Sandman as the enemy, then in #4 we should get Venom. That would give them plenty of post-production time to work on his effects too. Trying to cram the whole symbiote story arc into one movie would be crappy.

According to rumours, Venom doesn't appear until quite late in the film. This is good news in my opinion, given that too many villians spoil the superhero broth. Just think 'Batman and Robin'! That would set up Spiderman 4 quite nicely...
