Well how great was that?

I've only watched it about 10 times now & still the hairs on the back of my neck come up. Very emotional to see Waters back with the band, I just hope & pray that they got enough of a buzz out of it to want to do it again - I if they do, I will DEFINITELY be there!

FLOYD ROCK!

They did indeed sound excellent (bar Waters trying to sing on Wish You Were Here). Money and Comfortably Numb were particularly hot.

Waters' bass playing has never been amazing, but it's great to hear how much of a difference he makes to Pink Floyd when he plays with them – Guy Pratt would just play a very straight session-man bassline, but Waters happily twangs away with whatever he fancies, which really gives them the old sound back again. And Comfortably Numb with the alternating verse/chorus voices it's supposed to have sounds awesome.

Gilmour's solos still properly crank, too (moreso than the stale ones he was playing 10 years ago). They really should do a brief reunion tour of some sort – I'm sure most fans would be happy to have a fairly simple lighting set-up, the same old live projections and two hours or so of tunes. No need to go too crazy presentation-wise when they sound great.

Looking at the body language, Dave wasn't too happy with the whole thing, but everyone else looked to be having a blast.

Pink Floyd were by far the best thing at that concert.

Yeah, he didn't look comfortable at all. He's been quoted as saying it was "like sleeping with your ex-wife". I seriously doubt they'll ever get back together again, but it was a very nice one-off.

Pink Floyd were the highlight of Live8 for me. They showed those young pretenders how to really do it live, and the quality of the songwriting shone through.

It was definitely awkward for them, and that embrace at the end seemed uncomfortable, but who cares? - it was a great reunion!

Not sure how true this is, but a friend of mine told me that in the 24 hours after Live8 sales of Floyd albums went up by over 1300%.

Very good for 15 mins. work
