Just heard from Dogs. He'll be there (with Nick I think) at 8pm. I might be a bit late

You? Late? Never!!!!!
Yup, Fluid, Charterhouse St. from about 8pm... Not sure what time the club opens, but I suppose VIPs can breeze in any time they want to?

Fantastic night - left early just as Infusion were finishing their live set (who were superb, btw)
Phil (complete with torchspecs) started his DJ set with Halcyon (interspersed with Belinda Carlisle/Bon Jovi/The Darkness) and included other Orbital/Phil Hartnoll tunes including Dr Hoover mixed with Lush, Impact, and ended with Dr Who. His whole set was superb, and included a stormin' track mid set, that sounded very Hartnoll-like (either Paul or a Long Range track?) I do hope this gets released - kind of reminded me of a Technologique Park-type track - lovely!
Good to meet up with Davemac, Willsey, and Memley... Sorry we left early, but we'll have to all meet up again in the future
Currently got a slight hangover, but top night!

Phil's mixing has definitely improved... I NEED to know what that track was that stopped and Phil restarted. Sounded very nice indeed and I'm convinced a Hartnoll had a hand in it...
As for Infusion, they were superb. Bit of a short set by their standards, but still nice n' beefy nonetheless. I started to feel pretty rough by the end of their set as my headache from earlier in the day decided to return with a vengeance and that forced me to the back and then out of Fabric after their set...

Nice one - that would have been the one that stuck out - fantastic stuff. Can't wait for the Long Range album, then!

What a great night!
Nice to meet y'all too
Excellent set, although I hate to say it but his mixing was actually worse than I imagined it

(I thought it was gonna be poor) None the less great tunes/ great man. Got the chance to talk gibberish to Phil later on that night (cheers for accosting him Willsy

, eternally indebted) and what a sound fella, completely humble and prepared to take the time to listen to whatever nonsense I was spouting.
I wanted to hear Impact soo much and was totally stoked when he played not only that little gem but Lush too...
The Plumps played a great set too and generally a top night. Got to hear Soul Vibrates and Infectious by ED209 so I was delighted. Also heard a mad mashup too, Smack my Bitch up and Orinoco Flow by Enya !?! great stuff.

phil was excellent in nottingham last night too - the start and end of the set were the same as above, so the rest might have pretty much been too

How long was it? Was it just the three of them, or did they have the guitarists as well? You need at least two hours of Infusion for them to fully get into the proper improvisational swing of things, really.

what a fantastic night, great to meet you all too.
Totally enjoyed the "mini orbital gig" and it was topped off by meeting Phil wandering through the chill out area...I just had to grab hold of him and say "there is somepeoples you have to meet" cue Memly and Dapeige....who were slightly bewildered to say the least, but what a top guy Phil was, stood and chatted to us and generally came across as a totally genuine and nice guy...
other highlights for me musically were...
- The Plumps, cant wait for the album, the new tracks seriously rocked.
- Hearing the Smack my bitch up/enya mash up...Memly and I stood there in hysterics!! As did the Aha - Take on me tune later that night!!
- Evil Nine's set....especially one track in particular that had the sample that sent tingles down my spine cos it was so loud over the soundstystem " Lord Vader?"........"yes master"..........."RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE" then wallop.....amazing breakbeat tune.....trying to find out who it was.
Looking forward to the next Fabbers trip in two weeks time!

Yes, yes. A good time had by all. And, yes, I really did think that Willsy was a Nathan Barley look-alike.
I also collared Mr Hartnoll and the conversation went something like:
DMac: 'PHIL HARTNOLL!'
PH:'...?'
DM: 'Best fun I've had since Glasto last year'
PH: '...!'
DM: 'You're a fucking genius mate' <gives big hug>
PH: '...!?' <hugged back though>
DM: <big beaming smile>
PH: 'sorry mate, gotta go'
DM: 'of course'
Actually, there was a bit more to it than that, and he did humour me for a few minutes, and to be sure, he's nicer than nice.
