loopz et al: hey, the question now is whether you'd go see Amorphous Androgynous live! I know _I_ would, for sure... But it's not everyone's cup of tea - are they even touring as "AA"?
After the retro Mello hippo disco show EP I nearly lost my faith in the guys, but The Isness still rocks.
What's new in the "FSOL" front? anything? or more hippie-dippie mellow guitars to follow?
oh, and Mouse on Mars is coming to Finland to Koneisto, apparently, so that's ONE tick off my list!
- No, not tick as in nasty insect, but you know what I mean.

Bands I could have gone to see but never got round to and regret...
Pistols (last British gig in town I grew up in)
Clash, Specials (fucking great bands, but never played local)
Erasure (I reckon they would've been good fun)
Smiths (saw the light too late)
Kraftwerk (had the chance at Tribal Gathering (Homelands?) but probably chose to see some toss instead)
Bands I've seen too many times...
Chems, Prodg
I don't know what it is about the Chems, but every time I've seen them they've been exactly the same, regardless of what they played.

Working at gigs means I have seen nearly all the recent acts I've wanted to, But still some missed opportunities.
Led Zeppelin in all their pomp. I have seen the 3 surviving members in various guises. JPJ solo was by far and away the best.
The Orb
Pink Floyd
Really want to see RJD2
Only saw the last 15 minutes of Kraftwerk. Hope to rectify that in sept.
Planxty. for the act that really put traditional Irish Music on the map, I am so annoyed I haven't seen them yet.
Also the Hartnoll brothers in solo mode have yet to be expeirenced at this end
Unfortunatly working at gigs also means I see an awful lot of bollix.
e.g. Last night I was working at my seventh Bryan Adams gig. You have no idea how popular that gobshite is here. I still haven't got that vaguely greasy sensation off of me yet

Kansler, is there a webpage with a list of the artists that play Koneisto this year? The official site seems pretty empty...
This might be the first year that I make it there, since I'm coming back from the Mediterranean a bit earlier than usual.
And I can certainly relate to pretty much not having seen anyone (well apart from the amazing smökki posse) live...
I saw The Prodigy many moons ago at Brixton Academy during the Fat of the Land tour: pretty good night, despite the dancefloor collapsing halfway through and it having to be stopped for half an hour or so.
That actually sounds pretty damn cool...

kvagga, the Koneisto official site is pretty darn dead right now, but maybe it'll rectify in the next two weeks or so - that's how it usually has worked!
I got that Mouse on Mars tip from some dude from xltronic.com messageboards, which I then double-checked via their official website at
http://www.mouseonmars.com, which offers a link to
http://www.sonig.com/mom/live.php.
Yep, looking good.
Unfortunately that's all I can say.
... And loopz, it's true AA and FSOL are from different worlds, but there is also this grey area where they meet, like on a few electronically driven songs off The Isness.

... Those especially I enjoy.[/url]

I kmow what you mean about the Chems.........they've made some fine tunes over the years but they've never really done it for me as a live act.

Cheers Kansler. Actually just Mouse On Mars is a good enough reason to go...

Talking about AA performing live, I just came upon this:
http://www.earthcore.com.au/
It's a festival in November in Victoria, Australia called Earthcore, and damn the line up looks tasty. There's the Amorphous Androgynous live band, Phil playing a DJ-set, Ott, Juno Reactor, System 7, Eat Static, Hallucinogen, etc...
I'm very jealous for all the aussies living in the area at the moment.

I saw erasure in March - it would have been a good show if there hadn't have been two fat ugly lesbians in front of me.

Hehe, interesting, I'm seeing Kraftwerk at the end of the month
Until recently Autechre was on my list too, but I saw them in DC
