I've been going through a real ambient phase at the moment, and can heartily recommend Stars Of The Lid - fantastic stuff. Also, try a bit of Jon Hopkins, Brian Eno & Harold Budd (Ambient 2 & The Pearl). I've also been getting into a little Steve Roach (some of it can be a little digeridoo-tastic, but still worth a listen, especially Structures From Silence), and Tetsuo Inoue (Ambiant Otaku)

it's dark and nothing really happens, but it is quite a ride
