Loopz wrote:Yes i did ask the question "IF they are using your bootleg". So they aint using your bootleg so you wont get any PRS. Shame as PRS is always a good ongoing earner. I used to print the cheques for them many moons ago and was suprised what people got paid for the most random of things.
Yeah, but the point I was making is that the PRS only pay to artists featured in the songs... Therefore as there's no original Phil n' Dog material in there, we wouldn't get paid. If the writing credits were 'Macinnes/Garcia/Shillito/Blake' then we would be paid, but we didn't contribute anything to the tracks, just the arrangement and that doesn't count for anything...

You are making a point of not reading what i wrote and also PRS is not just about "artists" dog.

All you had to say is they aint using or playing out YOUR bootleg. Dont go all diva on me and have a tantrum !

Lopez is right. If they were using your bootleg, you would not be entitled to publishing royalties, cos you didn't write the track, but you did 'perform' it (Performing Rights Society), so therefore you would have been entitled to PRS payments.

If Dido decides to perform an Elton John track at a live concert which is then sold as a CD, she would get the PRS money, he would get the publishing money...

Must get out to HMV at some point this week!

Here's what Toronto record store Play de Record has to say about Doctor Pressure on their website:

"Description: Excellant mash up that drops the vocals of the Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine hit "Doctor Love" over the "Release the Pressure" hit from Mylo. Seriously, it dont get much bigger than this one. Also includes remixes from the Stanton Warriors and Rex the Dog, in addition to the original. Price: $14.99 CAD"

Doctor love?!

Through a roll-call thread on a Toronto forum, found out Mylo will be here next weekend for $10 (£4.50!) at some venue I've never heard of. Can't find the gig on his site or any details anywhere else, but I'm going and dragging a friend or two with me anyway.

'Doctor Love'? 'Release the Pressure'? Jesus, I thought Phil n' Doug was bad, but this is just silly.

I've seen it called 'Release the Pressure' somewhere else too, might have been on the BBC site.

I tried to see him at Glasto but the tent was just SO RAMMED with people I couldn't even get near. I'm lookign forward to this one.
Weird that it's not publicized anywhere... and from what I can tell the venue is pretty small (500-700 or so).

Best Mylo gigs are always in small places... Cargo and the Zodiac in Oxford spring to mind...

Australian release of Doctor Pressure, btw, is 3rd October - same tracks as the UK CD :)

Promo CD has an extra mix of "Drop The Pressure" (possibly now emulating Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Relax" in the number of different mixes out there)!

Most remixed single is still 'Progen '91' by The Shamen. 23 different mixes.

Hmmm, well then it's up to you. Mylo's not the greatest DJ in the world Aimee. If it's a long drive, I'd sell the tix and not bother.

Mylo's a shit DJ who plays gay music to crowds of wankers.
