As posted elsewhere, I have heard a fair bit of Orbital being used for background music on various progs here. Then this morning I here them being used for an ad. As the lads seemingly read here on occasion, this seems like the ideal opportunity to inform them of possible royalties.
The ad was on Today FM at about 9.45 am. The sample used was from Illuminate and the ad was for Kia (a car maker).
Now whatever about other music makers swiping a tune, I have no intention of letting these corporate bastards away with it for an instant. I hope you feel the same and if you do, post it here
legspin, servant of Torqeumada, the 'lads' probably have no say in how their music is used if they don't own the rights to thier own stuff...or something like that. I understand your frustration and enmity towards these 'corporate bastards', but maybe they liked the song.

I do understand about the rights of artists when it come to their material.
What I was trying to say (and failling miserably), was if you hear the lads stuff being used for promotional purposes, just let them know that it has. There are companies out there who do steal tunes if they think they can get away with it. I used to work for one that would raid any cd's that came into the office, and until myself and one of my workmates threatened to report them to the PRS, they refused to pay any royalties on them.
The fact that the music has been released means the artist loses the right to regulate it's use in the majority of cases, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't get paid for it.
As to my master knowing where I am, to understand your enemy you must first think as he does....CREDO
