My first album - Electronic Somewhere

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

My first album - Electronic Somewhere

Post by bliss »

I think I finaly have an albums worth of material, it's only taken me 5 years  It's still work in progress as I need to fix a few issues with the odd track and at just under 75 mins running time I may have to cut a track or two. Any feedback would be great i.e which tracks to drop, running order, labels that might like it, etc.

If your a fan of Down Tempo, Ambient, IDM you may like it.

You can listen to the whole album at 128k on my artist page:

http://www.planetbliss.co.uk/pure.htm

The lo-fi links are not online yet.

Or on my last.fm page:

http://www.last.fm/music/Planet%20Bliss ... eleased%29

If you use the last.fm link you will need to sign up and download their player. It's a cool site though. You can install their audioscobbler plugin into Winamp and Windows Media player to keep tabs on the music you play. Since using the site I have been convinced to buy "A Strangely Isolated Place" by Ulrich Schnauss. First CD I have bought in two years!

Or you can download the whole album in a zip file (68.3mb) I will only keep this link online for a week or two:

http://www.planetbliss.co.uk/esdemo.zip

Also, what do you think of my cover idea:

Or the Orange! version:

All feedback welcome!

I prefer the purple one, partly because it's one of my favourite colours, but in fact I really like the design :D

Unfortunately I can't listen to the music tho as I have no sound card @ work :(
I don't use Myspace anymore, you'll find me on Facebook ;-b

I actually like the Purple one too but prefer the way the text looks in the orange one...it doesnt stick out as much and generally looks more comfortable against the back ground. :D

The purple one then  I think purple suits the vibe of the music better than orange. The orange one makes a cool desktop image though.

Any feedback on the tracks?

Actualy that's not quite true as I bought the Blue album earlier this year, forgot about that one. I also bought FSOL's Dead Cites and Howie B's Turn the Dark off last week. Only 3.33 each from Amazon!

I don't buy many CD's as I mainly listen to bedroom muso's like myself :)

Two good net releases:

Mercurial - Structure and Chaos EP

March Of The Lemmings rocks!

General Fuzz - Messy's Pace

unconscious alliance and liquid jazz are the best two
