Ricky.
Wow, an FAO.
I was working at it. The saturday was just marvelous. From 2pm. until 2am. I saw Mixmaster Mike, Hot Chip, Stereo MC's, Arcade Fire, Royksopp, Kraftwork and finally Norm Cook spinning some discs. I had to go home on sunday morning (family stuff), but I was back that night and saw Lemon Jelly and then bounced between 2 many DJ's (the mix of Teenage Kicks was inspired and got the biggest roar I heard of the w/end) and De la Soul.
Highlight. Kraftwork. One to tick off the list. Brilliant Performance
Surprise of the weekend. Royksopp. Didn't think they could rock out like that.
Disappointment of the w/end. The switching around of Mixmaster Mike and Hot Chip. Only coz' for some reason the punters complained to us crew, like it was our decision. (Hot Chip were late turning up), and not getting to the silent disco, which seemed to have been a great sucess

picnic
Yeah, i was there my self.
I hooked up with a fellow forum dude (Spacecadet) on the saturday. We went to see Kraftwerk, Ropyksopp, fatboyslim and goldfrapp.
Kraftwerk standing out as the best of the bunch and indeed one of the best gigs i've ever been to. Fuc*in amazing actually. I must see them again.
On sunday we went to see Human League (which was a laugh), Lemon Jelly (on the last show of their tour) and Soulwax/2 Many djs. I'd never heard soulwax perform before and was pleasantly surprised to find that they riocked the shop.
All in all a 'genuine class' weekend. It definitly beat several shades of shit out of oxegen.

Aye, I second that.
There are rumours of it being 3 days next year. So more chill out wackyness I hope.
The rumour mill also has the numbers increasing to 40000 punters. I hope not, as I don't think the venue is suitable for any larger capacity, and it was packed enough without being uncomfortable IMO.
I wanted to see The Human League myself, if only for the nostalgia quotient. I was told after that one of the girls has developed quite impressively

40,000....thats a bit much, me thinks. I was happy enough with the the whole scaled down setup cause It wasn't as hectic.
Bring on the 3 day'er though. I never went to the 3 day feile festivals back in the day and have always wanted to go on a 3 day festival bender thing.
Yeah, Human League were deadly (very very nostalgic). When they played 'don't you want me baby', the whole tent turned into a football terrace with everybody chanting the chorus at the top of their voices. It was very loud and very funny.
What a nice way to end the summer!!!
