Well I was astounded when I saw this album at my local music store, not having even heard about the project previously. If anyone doesn't know, Chaos Theory is the third installment of the Tom Clancy videogame series Splinter Cell. The games are about espionage and counter-terrorism I believe, and I've heard nothing but good about them.
Has anyone heard the album? I'm a huge Amon fan and I think it's f*cking amazing, easily among the best of his work. I feel it would perfectly score an action/stealth-oriented game as well, so whoever thought to have Mr. Tobin do it gets big points from me. He's got some amazing people performing on there too, and the orchestration is almost overwhelming.
Thoughts?

It's a great album, classic Amon Tobin. I heard he got some real musicians in studio to record this, and it shows.
I didn't play the game, tho, so I don't know how it looks like in a game environment. One thing is sure: if the tracks in the game are exactly like on this soundtrack, I think I would find them distracting from the gameplay. Anyone has tried it?

I have been playing this game for a few weeks now and i love it...the gameplay is amazing and Amon's soundtrack fits perfectly for the stealthy creeping around in each level!

"You know, just simple lines intertwining, you know, very much like - I'm really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and it's sort of in between those, really. It's like a Mach piece, really"

yea it was very very good. It even made me go out and buy all his other stuff. Those were great as well. I even got the surround sound mix of his Chaos Theory and it sounds amazing. Its to bad not all the music from the game was released...
which included most of the music on the level "Bank". There was also the action track from "Battery" which was not released.
