Warehouse Party! Fri 22 July-Feat Echasketch Jon Hopkins etc

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Warehouse Party! Fri 22 July-Feat Echasketch Jon Hopkins etc

Post by Barrydark »

A yo!

Well well well

Am getting excited about this line-up! So far we have

Live:

Jon Hopkins (http://www.justmusic.co.uk/artists/jon_hopkins)
Echasketch (http://www.echaskech.com)
Animat/ Sundaze (http://www.sundaze.lowtech.org, Big Chill Biog)
Liberation Jumpsuit (http://www.liberationjumpsuit.co.uk)
Digitonal vs Media Lounge present Kubrick's The Shining (tbc) (http://www.digitonal.com), (http://www.medlo.net)

DJs:
Remote
BarryDark feat MC Science (http://www.barrydark.com)

Live installations, other films, DJs and a bucksome VJ line-up are tba.

Thanks to everyone who's emailed so far. We'll be getting back to you soon.

Tickets are £6 on the door and are available only to those on our guestlist.

Please email DigitalCity@hotmail.co.uk to be added to our gueslist.

Some of you will be aware that our last event 'sold out' several weeks before the actual night, so if you're keen, I do suggest you email us pronto.

With an eye on maintaining the comfortable standards of our last party, the new venue is very lush, with 2 arenas, a bar, an outside/chillout (man) area, and all the creature comforts a girl could ever want. It's also entirely white, so expect nothing less than a VJ's playground.

Hint- The venue is at a secret location less than 2 minutes walk away from Elephant and Castle tube.

Cheers all

I doubt there'll be in a trouble in getting in as its not a venue in the traditional sense, but that's entirely up to the door man.....

Ho! Ho! Miss Dagger. Just don't suggest that to Science, he's heard that line rather a lot recently, as you might imagine.

Anyways- the news is that Digitonal with Media Lounge is now confirmed. I kid you not when I say that their version of the Shining is probs the best Audio-visual interpretation of a film I've seen.....

....and if you haven't heard Digitonal, it really is high time you did. Plaid meets Boards of Canada, but with more strings......

I'd go, but it's a mate's 30th birthday weekend and he's having a party in a field somewhere.

Will try to get to the next one for sure...
Slugs! HE created slugs! They can't hear. They can't speak. They can't operate machinery. Are we not in the hands of a lunatic?
