The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.
Oh, my fukkking god, now THIS is a remix!!! Gongratulations! The whole remix uses my favourite part of the original song.
Orbital's version should sounds like this!
Havent had a chance to listen to any of these yet..
My own remix has failed miserably; my hard drive froze on me over the weekend whilst working on it and I have lost quite a lot of Ableton Live Projects... my own fault to a certain extent as I should have some type of backing up regime on the go but I dont
I have had to reinstall everything again including some whopping vsts that has taken me for ever to get back working again.
I havent even started loading or categorizing all my samples/loops etc.
Anyway good luck guys!

dude that sucks. we had that happen awhile back and honestly we've never recovered. we have all the audio backed up, etc but since it was a machine running os 9 (ack! right?) with cubase 5 and we can't get another machine running with it (despite owning two that will run os 9) we've just kept the rescued data and i keep trying to get one of the two machines to boot and run os 9. i just want to open them all up and rescue all the midi.
i've been working on my remix off and on. took a break last night from it. i'm liking where its going, but i'm having to do a lot more practicing triggering samples than i thought i would. i could go sequence them all, but honestly i'd rather just trigger them off my launchpad.
i know i will not win (no idea why, just a gut feeling like all remix competitions i do) but i'm working on mine in my home studio:
if i wasn't working on this remix i'd be mapping a bunch of samples from my jp8000 to ableton's sampler. i might use one of the sample sets in my remix actually. but for those of you interested in instant gratification, here is the location i post them up for free.

Thanks for your sympathy mate, computers suck!
Dying to see the photo of your studio! (at work and firewall preventing it!).
I have managed to sort something out; I have installed Live on my laptop with just a few vsts to keep me going...
I kitted my spare room out with a mini studio 2 years ago where I bought a PC purely for music making... so this drive was only 2 years old. I hate computers!
I dont think any of us really think we're in with a chance, but its the process and the learning curve thats fun.
I will also give your sample set a bash once the Wonky Project is over too.
Just been listening to the Shady & Embryo mixes and I like what you've done guys, good work! What sequencer did you both use??

Nothing too major Memly..just used a combination of Ableton & Reason.
Literaly done in 30 mins just mucking about with the samples on Ableton and combined it with another tune I had been mucking about with on Reason.
Not going to bother entering it to be honest as it was just a basic mix, but thought you guys on here would like to hear it.
