Current Orbital setlist (SPOILER)
Hello everyone,
it's been a while since I last posted here (2004), but the return of our electro heroes has been a pleasant surprise to me.
I have to say the current full setlist is almost perfect. All the familiar classics with the long overdue return of Lush 3, the sublime Out There Somewhere and - best of all - the mighty Know Where To Run (my fave track from TMON) being the icing on the cake. The only track that is a total letdown in such high-quality company is One Perfect Sunrise. I have to agree with several of your postings: It feels like a desperate attempt to recreate the bliss of the likes of Belfast and Halcyon, but is just plain boring. There are so many better tracks on Blue such as Transient, Bath Time or (despite its title) Pants, not to mention the obvious contender for Orbital classic: You Lot. So I hope they drop One Perfect Sunrise in September and replace it with You Lot or a perfect track from Snivilisation, i.e. Forever or Kein Trink Wasser.
I envy all of you who have the chance to see them in the UK. I just wish they would come to Germany, too. Well, I hope the USB wristband recordings will at least go ahead for the September dates. The new variations I heard on YouTube sound amazing. And the announcement of a few brand new songs to be written for future shows is a dream come true. While I enjoyed the Hartnoll's last projects, only three tracks really gave me the goosebumps in an Orbital way: Paul's "Patchwork Guilt", "Please (Remember 1992 Mix)" and remix of Culprit 1's "Tricks".

Would be nice, but unfortunately the costs involved in producing them doesn't yield that much (if anything) nowadays...Kyblik wrote:but still i want some new material in nice quality on CD..

Re: Current Orbital setlist (SPOILER)
I got my hands on USB audio of the Manchester gig... can't believe what I just sat through.
The whole set had a very "phat" sound to it, sort of updated to 2009. Very beat driven/stripped down. OTSW as the opening was wonderful. That's easily my favorite Orbital track, stirred up alot of emotions in me before breaking into the harder stuff. The new version of Halcyon is miles better than the last live versions. Box/Doctor Who was insanity...
The whole presentation was VERY upfront and confident sounding, almost as if they are... announcing their return to the music scene?

Re: Current Orbital setlist (SPOILER)
I haven't noticed this in any of the topics so far, nor in the setlists in the tour section...
I went to the Brixton gig on the 24th... now, is it just me or did I hear a piece of Steel Cube Idolatry in between Out There Somewhere pts 1 and 2? The setlists always mention the Moebius, but I swear I could hear the bassline and rhythm from Steel Cube...
Or is it just me?
