Home Audio - Advice Needed

Post by davemacfrombath »

Tech-heads...

I need to replace my CD player as it refuses to play half my CDs.

I'm thinking of going digital and wouldn't mind accessing the same stuff from a number of rooms in the house.

Any ideas?

Well I have gone digital with my new gaff; I've packed away all my CDs and just have my Ipod with a docking station, my old Marantz Amp and a now unused Marantz CD player.

I too like to listen to music in other rooms, for that I have bought an Istation, which has shitty sound, but then I listen to that in the bath and there is nowt to absorb the sound in my bathroom so the sound bounces all around the place.

Do you already have speakers set up in the other rooms? Are they controlled by one amp?
Is your music on your PC?
I don't know you people...why are you here?

I've got a small system in my bedroom with separate speakers that are not bad. I'm planning on paying my lad to convert CDs to MP3 (or whatever).

I want to keep my amp from my main system as it's quite good - Cambridge and I also have floor speakers that I's also like to keep.

Can you link the docking station to an external amp?

Should be able to mate. Think most docking stations use standard red and white audio connectors that should plug into the audio in area on the back of your amp.

I think this would suit you just fine.
