The Godfather of Soul is gone - the man was a true legend.

It's incredible how many genres of music this man is largely responsible for. Soul, funk, disco, rap, hiphop, breakbeat/jungle... Truly a huge gift for the world of music.

Often imitated in some form, never duplicated in any way. An amazing artist who pushed entire continents of music into strange and exciting areas, from which the world GREATLY benefits from, even today.

R.I.P. James Brown :( and long live the funk. 8)

RIP Godfather.
Slugs! HE created slugs! They can't hear. They can't speak. They can't operate machinery. Are we not in the hands of a lunatic?

Walked past the theatre in New York where he was supposed to be playing on NYE, and it was amazing, lots of people writing messages on the posters and music playing. We were tempted to go up to the Apollo when he was 'lying in state' but thought it might be a bit crazy...
