you can't even spell promoter properly.

like i say mate, you can criticise peoples efforts a bit more when you've done anything of any merit...

i can handle it ok thanks - just not off someone who, because he promotod a party with a few planet mu artists in brum once, thinks he can rip the efforts of everyone who worked so hard on the night for months... including the hard work put in by the artists to entertain people like you.

and you'll find that everything you felt was wrong with the night (200bpm lfo/ae lasers/high beer prices/low levels on the soundsystem) don't actually come down to me...

like i say - once you do something of any merit drop me a line.

My criticism was aired as a person who posts on a board. I never even mentioned any of our nights until you uttered that patheric comment about doing a better job. lol. So it was you who decided that people shouldnt comment on your night unless they are reputable in the electronic music scene. Thats not my problem if thats how you deal with negative comments.

I know LFO and Autechre can deliver. I've already mentioned that i've seen them loads of times and they delivered! The artists involved on Friday deserved a better setup. Go and experience Autechre loud - they will shit on Friday from a great height :)

I think you'll find that the correct response is "Don't let the door slap your arse on the way out".

I wasn't at the gig (would liked to have been) but I agree that Autechre only work well when it's fuck-off loud, pitch black and 101% intensity. If it's too quiet and there are lasers etc. then it detracts and becomes 'just another show' for people to talk over etc. and as live Autechre performances are on a par with rocking horse manure and pixie dust for rarity, they should be special.

As for the attitude of the promoter, giving grief because someone dared challenge him as they were disappointed in the night, thats pathetic. I know loads of people who organise nights and if things don't go right, they're usually the first ones apologising, not bitching at people because they paid £xx to get in and then thought it was shit.

Oh and Loopz, about that Glasgow Ae recording....? ;) Yousendit.com? ;)

i've seen em play loud and in the dark in a club environment. it was wicked. i loved it. doesn't mean that that's what they 'have' to do everytime as you two seem to suggest... they played at glade, that was neither loud, nor dark. and they used lasers then. and they were equally as wicked. just a different environment for them to play. and you know what... i bet they really enjoyed it.

like i said - ae brought lasers in and then went on to play the best set they could in relation to the restrictions of the venue... the majority of people loved it. autechre really enjoyed it too... i know for a fact that it was a special gig for them.

have either of you actually thought that they might want to do something different from time to time, maybe that's just one of the many reasons why they've been around so long, having the vision to move with the times...

might be something to bear in mind loopz. especially considering you're the 'moderator' of an orbital board haha... when did they split up again? i bet you still debate how the green album was far superior than the brown album down the pub...

my advice to you dude, is to move with the times, with the rest of us. stop wasting time 'policing' message boards, get out a bit more, make your mark by doing something decent, make some friends...

and before you start squealing back at me, remember... i'm trying to help you here.

yo dog - i really don't think i need to apologise for anything. there were the odd few gripes but that's expected when putting on a show of this size. i know you didn't attend but have we really done people such a bad turn, to the point where we need to apologise, by promoting a party like that? come on dude... think about it...

remember - all the stuff loopz spent the night crying into his pintz about (lfo at 200bpm, lasers, beer prices, soundsystem) are out of my handz.

we have put on successful nights month in, month out in manchester for nearly 4 years - although we show a great deal of attention to detail we never expect anything to run perfectly.

but saying that, apart from the expected issues with the sound in the warehouse we thought friday's show was pretty f**kin amazin all round... as did 99.9% of people who attended and ALL the artists who played... end of story for us, a good result for all involved... we're already onto the planning for the next big party now. we sincerely hope you don't come loopz.

oh and the recordings of lfo and massonix are on radio one tonight... and that's the 2nd time this year they've had their tech crew down to our little night, recording the artists live sets to play on national radio.... hmmmm... we must be doing something right, not think?

I can safely say that myself and Dog have been listening to electronic music from Autechres day one to the present day. We know what they have done in the past, present day and have experienced all these stages first hand. We dont have to think :)

If you open your eyes and learn to click around a bit you will see this is not an Orbital board. linear browsing is always a problem to those who are just hear to promote and try and make money out of other peoples talent. If you cant cut it yourself then promote is what they say :) Come down my local i'm sure they would love to debate your night instead of the Orbital album. be my guest. lol

Make some friends. haha. I dont have to host a party to gain friends thats for sure. If we was policing the board as you say then you would have been banned and deleted but you are actually our entertainment at the moment. As a lot of us can say...been there and done that. :)

You need to help yourself and your ego. Did you identify a new planet? find a cure for cancer ? no, you held a night in old brewery in manchester that wasnt to our taste. nice 1.

If its out of your hands then stop making pathetic excuses.

You still need to work on your percentages. 00.1% didnt like :) As for me coming, i only go to nights depending on location, venue and artist. The people who organise it are nothing for the night, the artist is the reason always. Keep it at the brewery and you can guarentee you wont get my money. lol

ok. i'm sure you're their biggest fan. yawn.

this is an orbital board it's got orbital written all over it (no disrespect to orbital btw).

and i'm not making money out of other peoples talent. i originally started putting clubs on as a platform to dj but then everything spiralled a bit and i got more into promoting. still don't make much out of it - that's not why i do it. yeah i spam your site - hold my hands up to that... it's becoming one of my favourites though now.

been there and done what? i don't understand... btw, i am only joking, i'm sure you have a few friends really.
You need to help yourself and your ego. Did you identify a new planet? find a cure for cancer ? no, you held a night in old brewery in manchester that wasnt to our taste. nice 1.
actually we held two. the first one rocked as well. and i got the chance to dj to 1500 people as the venue was filling up. and it was well good.
If its out of your hands then stop making pathetic excuses
i'm not making excuses. can you not read? i'm just saying that all the things that bugged you are out of my hands... can you not understand that?
Is that you admitting you have cocked up on occasions. Well done you are not perfect after all. Shame you aiint Megadog thats all i can say. 4 yrs :)
4 years is good for electronic music, nearly 3 now with sequence and that's not bad going really... i've seen plenty nights come and go. we're well organised and that's why we get the chance to put on the likes of ae, lfo and surgeon on one bill... not many other UK clubs would get the chance/the option to do so.

and we're not lucky, we've worked hard and have a strong reputation that we're proud of. and i'm glad we're not megadog to be honest, i'm 100% happy with our approach and what we do...

it won't be at the brewery - that's done now and we're moving on, you should do too. we've done two there and that's it. there will be lots of other venues in 07, some small, some big, some outdoors... plenty options. first up is our 3rd birthday next february - it's an immense lineup and i can't wait to put it on.
no , the artists are the ones being played on the radio, not your ego :) The artists are doing right :) always :)
to be honest mate i wouldn't say i've got a big ego. just making my point that we put on wicked parties and book wicked guests. that's why radio one come down and record the artists when they've played at our parties. twice in 2006.

remember - they could record them anywhere
