Warp.com:
Due to unanticipated satanic activity, the release date of Trans Canada Highway, the new EP from Boards of Canada, has been brought forward to 29th May 2006 (a day later in the US).

Got to listen to the EP today, left me a bit disappointed. Left side drive and Skyliner are excellent tracks, but they are the only "real" tracks, the other new tracks are basically just interludes based on what I've heard. The OD mix is nothing to write home about either, it doesn't sit well with the BOC sound. I think the only one who can do a proper mix of BOC is Ulrich Schnauss.

The question then is whether it's worth paying EP price for two new BoC tracks (plus two shorties plus one remix)... I'm undecided! Probably I will buy it, since The Campfire Headphase has grown on me immensely since its release.

"Left side drive" and "Skyliner" are the best tracks I've heard this year, even better than the Campfire Headphase

Fully agree with Numanoid. Heard tons of praise for the remix whereas I was extremely disappointed. Im not going to shoot down the two interludes though as im a huge fan of the BoC interludes on all of their albums. Left Side Drive and Skyliner are definitely better than anything on Campfire Headphase. Looking forward to more output up to par with this release.
