"Eat Static
Alien invasion!
Techno-based, UFO-obsessed side project of ex-Ozric Tentacles members. In the early days there was 'Abduction' and 'Implant', slamming, sci-fi electro trance. That was over a decade ago, now producing abrasive techno anthems and psychedelic Latin grooves, Eat Static remain one of the best live dance acts on the scene. Friday 12th May 8.00 pm Vikrams "
and
"System 7
Centered around the creative powerhouse of Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy, this group has been making superbly uplifting psychedelic techno and ambient music since their inception in 1990. Collaborations include The Orb and Eat Static and they are also one of the few techno groups to widely embrace the sound of the good old GEETAR. Their live show is Floydesque in its scope complete with lights, strobes, and backdrops - but no flying beds or pigs. Essentially deep and stimulating psychedelic party music, for those who know how to have a good time. Friday 16th June 8.00 pm Vikrams "
Vikrams is here, btw (for those that know Slough):

Travelodge is about 300 yards walk from Vikram's... You see the little car park sign to the north of the left end of Herschel St? That car park is under the Travelodge. Also, Vikram's is on the southern side of Herschel St., not where they reckon it is on the map...

Ah, I think I know where it is now - the Travelodge is opposite the Fujitsu building!
sorry about the date change for System 7, these things happen. Space and time and all that ....
anyway, it's not an obscure place for a gig, it's the most opulent and sumptious venue you'll ever go to in your life - imagine the regulars from the pub in "Shameless" magically transported to the banquetting hall in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", with the bands from Lost Vagueness as the entertainment, and that's the Maharajah Cabaret at Vikrams
we had the Ozrics last year, The Beat the other week, and Zion Train next weekend

when we've done the necessary paperwork, and worked out how much the lightshow is going to cost. Some bands make huge extravagant demands for booze, telephones, puppies in the dressing room, but System 7 say "get a proper pa and lightshow in"
