Whats your favourite Orbital remix?

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Post by memly »

Havent seen this question posted before. I suspect it has but what the heck...

For me I would have to say the Tsunami One remix of Nothing Left.
Boy thats good.

Closely followed by Stereo 8 version of One Perfect Sunrise.

I quite like the Sasha remix of Midnight at the moment, but (like the favourite Orbital track), it also changes regularly :)

Hey ffej071, you must be the first person in addition to myself that likes the Moby's remix of Speedfreak. Good to know I'm not alone anymore. :D

In general when talking about remixes of Orbital songs, I usually prefer the ones that the boys have done by themselves (just for example An Fomhair, Open Mind (FA mix), Bigpipe Style, damn what excellent tunes those are). But if I'd have to name something by someone else, I'd probably choose the Way Out West remix of Nothing Left, since it's really making my groovetoe itch at the moment. :) There's also a really funky part in the Schizoid remix of the same song, that starts at about 3:15 into the song.

ffej071, you might THINK you haven't heard Moby, but I'd be surprised if that were true, what with Play all over the place.
...
Yea, as kvagga pointed out, "Orbital remix" can mean AT LEAST three different things: 1) Orbital mixing Orbital, 2) Someone else mixing Orbital, 3) Orbital mixing someone else.

Can everybody please give their faves in all three categories, or at least point out which group their talking about! :P

For me:

1) LC1 (Chime), An Fhomhair (Otono) or Beelzebeat (containing samples from Tension and Funny Break, you non-believers!)
2) Plump Dj's' Funny Break or Underworld's Lush 3-3
3) Beached (Angelo Badalamenti!), Dr? etc. etc. My personal weakness if for "Confusion - Joy (Orbital Mix)"
It's a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake

My favorite is definitely the Karl Bartos Remix "I'm The Message". The drums on that track sound as if they had some impact on the development of "You Lot".

Stereo 8 mix of 'One Perfect Sunrise', because it's infinitely better than the original – and feels more like Orbital, too.
