What Are You Listening To Now?

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Been listening to Amon Tobin - Out from Out Where, and damn do I still love it to bits. Awesome combination of soundscapes and fat beats. The same kind of awesome use of samples to create amazing soundscapes, as FSOL has done at their best.

Finally listened to Hello Everything. Melodywise it's often truly excellent, otherwise it sounds like all the other stuff Tom's put out before. Then again I like his formula, so I'm not complaining. :)

It's a bit pants - feels like there's not much effort put into it. :(

Everytime i listen to a new Autechre album i always get confused. I disagree about the effort comment and to me every Autechre track has some kind of rhythm in there, even if its from a beat point of view. "Untilted" was geared towards beats and this appears to be geared towards sounds/reverbs. I like the fact they are doing something different yet again but again i have to listen to it many times before i can decide whether its floating my boat. I've noticed they have reworked some of the tracks they played live onto this album...but of course without the beats :)
