So, the new underworld album

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Promo's are quite useful for advance listening.

This album is a grower and more chilled out than anything.

"Crocodile" and "Beautiful Burnout" are fantastic. "Holding the Moth" is also great and reminds me of Detroit house with the lead bass line. "To Heal" and "Glam Bucket" - chilled out and very cinematic. "Boy Boy Boy" - really like this as well and probably the track that sticks out the most on first listen.

Tracks i skip...
"Ring Road" is just a poor man's Streets track. terrible.

The 2nd part of the CD is quite bland really. nothing too special.

Seeing them tonight...

i still like it :) - more than i generally like the streets, incidentally, so i wouldn't consider it a "poor man's" anything. the comparison to the streets is obvious, but it's not like there's any elements to it that underworld haven't done already before the streets came along - tho the overall combination is more of a change for them.
nothing clever but bouncy & cheerful, makes me smile :D

have fun in brum tonight guys 8) - i'll expect a full review/setlist etc tomorrow...

It's 106 miles to Chicago.
We got a full tank of gas,
half a pack of cigarettes.
It's dark and we are wearing sunglasses
