Poll - All Time Favourite Song....

The Music Discussion forum has replaced the old Lyrics and Samples forum and the Live Scene and Music Reviews forum. This forum is used to discuss anything relating to Music including Orbital topics, the live scene including Orbital gigs past, present and future. This section is an ideal place to post your live gigs reviews and album / single reviews. This forum can also be used to discuss Orbital lyrics and samples. The website will never disclose or confirm samples for legal reasons - so this is the next best thing.

Poll - All Time Favourite Song....

Post by chime »

Dear All

I thought I'd put a poll on here to find out what everyones all time favourite song is, just to see what kind of a broad spectrum of results we get
Mine has to be Papua New Guinea by The Future Sound of London
Looking forward to reading your posts....

That's easy: P.E.T.R.O.L by Orbital.

Really! No shadow of a doubt. You ask any of the regulars on hear. It has been for a long time.

This is a tricky one, I was asked this question in a job interview once and I couldnt really answer.

Like Dave and probably many others I dont really have a particular song thats my favourite of all time but agree that Papua New Guinea by The Future Sound of London is a good shout, one that also springs to mind as a strong contender is Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.

I'd say either Divinity by FSOL/AA or Wish You Were Here by the Floyd.

Either...

Black - Pearl Jam
Dwr Budr - Can't remember who did this one
On My Own - Ulrich Schnauss
Mr Blue Sky - ELO

Although my Ipod tells me its "Nothing Else Matters" by Paul Hartnoll.

That list is obviously subject to change, depending on mood, environment and company.
I don't know you people...why are you here?

Lerve matchine - Arctic monkeys

All genuine...

For the last few weeks, got to be Donna Summer - I Feel Love. Works on so many different levels. Could they (GM) really do that stuff in 1977?!!

Honourable mention to Prefab Sprout - When Love Breaks Down, and FSOL - PNG, beautiful song!

choosing one song is such a hard job.

you always have a few favorites, but picking one...

One that is sure in the list is:
Piano Magic - I Came To Your Party Dressed As A Shadow.
besides a cool title, it's also a wonderful song.

Can't be done. Can't pick any one.

Here are a few:

Beatles - Penny Lane
Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond (all of it)
ELO - Turn To Stone
PSB - West End Girls
Orbital - Spare Parts Express
Fargetta feat Anne Marie Smith - Music
4 Hero - Les Fleur
Elvis Costello and the Attractions - Pump It Up
The Housemartins - The Light Is Always Green
James Taylor - Fire and Rain
Carole King - I Feel The Earth Move
Ralph Vaughn Williams - Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis
B52s - Rock Lobster
Prodigy - Everybody in the place (Fairground Mix)
New Order - Love Vigilantes

Can't possibly choose between any of that lot or any of the other classics I hear on a day to day basis!
