ROYKSOPP BACK WITH NEW ALBUM
Royksopp are returning with a new album this summer. The Norwegian duo will release long player 'The Understanding' on Wall Of Sound on 27 Jun, preceded by a single release, 'Only This Moment' on 13 Jun. They will also be playing a series of yet to be announced "live" dates.

Commenting on the new album, Royksopp told CMU: "I can tell you that this is definitely a sound which for us is more looking towards the future, than being as reminiscent of the past as our last album was. We always feel we have to move on and venture into things we really haven't done before.
Even though the last one was called Melody AM, this one is even more about melody."

The full tracklisting for the album is as follows:

Triumphant
Only This Moment
49 Percent
Boys
Follow My Ruin
Beautiful Day
What Else Is There?
Circuit Breaker
Alpha Male
Someone Like You
Dead To The World

I like the way that the word live in "live" dates is surrounded by quotes! :P

In their case it's more 'Memorex' ;)

S'funny because Manns and myself were only discussing the other day how bloody long it's been since we heard the new Royksopp material at Brixton...

Heard Tong play the new single a couple of weeks back and I wasn't overly convinced by it on first play-sounded like the beat was out of synch with the rest of the track(or maybe that was Tong's atrocious mixing  ).

How dare you infer that the most important man in UK Dance music can't mix!!! ;)

Here's one song from the next CD, it's 1h25 into Saturday's show.

The song is "49 Percent", and I'm not totally convinced it's good. The beat is excellent, so is the production, but geez, what's with the singing?

that sounds like a track they played a while ago at the drum rhythm festival.
2 years ago or something.

They've been playing it for years, with completely different vocals (and lyrics). In the live version they sang the vocals themselves, heavily vocoded.

The singing on this new version made me really hate it.
